I have been drawing my entire life, and I have never had teachers that have been as helpful to me as those at SVA. I have studied with illustrators that I really respect, foremost among them, Mr. John Ruggeri, who has been a mentor to me in every sense of the word. John Ruggeri is incredibly prolific, he draws every day in the streets and coffeeshops of New York, gathering information and making art at a truly spontaneous rate. His voice is the voice of the city, teeming with character. And my only hope is that in the future I can emulate him without imitating too much. I have posted some of the work I did in his class and outside of it, that is directly related to the things he taught me.
